Sir Dr. Mike M. Okiro, CFR, is a distinguished national leader, veteran security strategist, and senior corporate governance professional with an extensive career spanning public service, institutional leadership, and strategic advisory roles. He served as the Inspector General of Police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the highest office in the Nigeria Police Force, where he provided nationwide leadership, policy direction, and operational oversight for internal security and law enforcement.
During his tenure as IGP, Sir Dr. Okiro was instrumental in advancing policing reforms, strengthening command structures, and enhancing inter-agency collaboration to improve public safety and national stability. His service earned him the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Nigeria.
As Group Vice Chairman of Aba Smart City, Sir Dr. Okiro provides high-level strategic leadership, governance oversight, and institutional guidance for the project.
